International Women in Mathematics Day

12 June 2017

International Women in Mathematics day celebrates the achievements of women in mathematics on 12 March, in honour of the late Maryam Mirzakhani (1977–2017), the first, and currently only, female Fields medallist, who was born on that day.

Tau Day

28 June 2024

On 28 June it is Tau (τ) Day, where we celebrate the new mathematical constant that has began a movement in modern mathematics. The Tau Movement suggests that actually, π can be a bit of a handful when doing Trigonometry, and that instead, a constant value of 2π, also known as Tau (τ).

Yellow Pig Day

17 July 2024

17 June is Yellow Pig Day, which is unfortunately not celebrating a Yellow pig. Instead, Yellow Pig Day is design to celebrate the number 17, and its significance in Mathematics.

Happy Halloween

Fibonacci Day

23 November 2024

One of the biggest mathematical holidays of the year, Fibonacci Day is celebrated on 23 November. In the date format used by the United States among others, the 23th of November is written as 11/23, a Fibonacci sequence.
